Paving blocks

Paving blocks have become known and used in Indonesia since
1977/1978. Paving blocks themselves have a variety of shapes for
meet the user's tastes. The use of paving blocks is adjusted to the level
needs, for example used as a parking lot, terminal, road
footpaths and road pavements in housing complexes and for
other needs. Paving block is a building material product made of cement
which is used as an alternative cover or surface hardening
land. Paving blocks are also known as concrete bricks or
cone blocks.

SNI 03-0691-1996 paving block (concrete brick) is
composition of building materials made from a mixture of portland cement or other materials
hydraulic adhesives and similar types, air and aggregates with or without other ingredients
does not reduce the quality of concrete bricks.
As a covering material and hardening of the soil surface, paving blocks
very broad use for various purposes, ranging from
simple to applications that require special specifications. Paving blocks
can be used for hardening and beautifying roads in cities,
paving roads in residential complexes or residential areas, beautifying
parks, yards and yards, hardening of parking areas, areas
offices, factories, parks and school yards, as well as in hotel areas and
restaurant.

Paving blocks with good quality are paving blocks that have
high compressive strength value (MPa units), as well as absorption value (air absorption proportion)
The low one (%). With respect to those quality standards, type
quality tested is better for strong pressure, and smaller
for the proportion of air absorption. The higher the value of the strength of the pressure then
paving blocks are getting better.

As for the proportion of air absorption (absorption), the more
the lower the absorption value, the stronger the paving block product.
Based on SNI 03 - 0691 - 1996, paving blocks are of the lowest quality
(grade D) at least has a pressure strength of 8.5 Mpa and
the proportion of air absorption on average is a maximum of 10%.
